A beautiful shooting star, unlike this one in the picture the one I saw had a really nice green tail to it.According to Wikipedia - A shooting star or falling star is the common name for the visible path of a meteoroid as it enters the atmosphere. A shooting star is also broken pieces of meteors that have become broken off in space.
About maybe twenty years ago I saw a meteor shower which was pretty neat to see but, this was so clear and so low to the earth that it almost seemed like it landed in the next town. It was one of those moments that you don't experience to often I think, especially for me anyway.

I love seeing shooting stars. I remember when I was a kid driving to go deer hunting with my dad on a cold November morning and seeing several shooting stars. And every time I see one it almost seems magical.
Adam This was my first shooting star and your right, it was so magical and I can't get the sight out of my head.
I had the same experience long time ago coming home and driving down a two lane road and out of nowhere in front of us was a big flash of light and looked like it had fallen out of the sky and landed in front of us or in the next town. It was beautiful to see. You are awestruck when you see something likt that! Glad you got to experience it. :)
I don't see those much around home but at our house on the lake..we see plenty. It is always so clear there. Beautiful to watch.
