I just sold the last of my extra muzzleloaders to a new person to the sport of black powder shooting. John who is a neighbor and friend to my son has showed interest and tinight he came over to look at a
CVA Wolf which he fell in love with.
Back in June of 2010 I did a product review on the CVA Wolf called,
This gun I have to say is one of my favorites and a good gun for a beginner into black powder shooting so that is why I feel it is a good match for John.
After shouldering the gun you could see he really liked it and I could only imagine that is how I must have looked when I first held it.
Seeing as he was new I decided to help him out with a couple packages of bullets, a case for the gun and a sling to go with it. It also came scoped with a Bushnell Pro scope which is a good scope.
Just as soon as are schedules meet up we are going to the local farm where I have permission to shoot and we are going to make smoke. Then I will be able to get down to the nitty gritty with him. It will be easier to show him rather than try to explain it to him. I also told him that if he wanted we would make a tri to Cabela's where I would help him pick out the other small accessories he will need. Of course when I go I will be doing a little shopping for my self.
Black powder shooting is really not as difficult as one might think and once you fire one you will literally have a blast no pun intended. Modern or traditional does not matter, they both load from the muzzle and they both are one shot only. Only after that does it determine it worth by the type of shooter you are and of course in some circumstances the type of products you use.
