My car verses Deer

Well I don't mind say yesterday was one of those days from the time I got up to the time I finally went to bed this morning. I certainly won't bore you with all the details but yesterday I had to watch my little guy until his mom got home from work so by the time I left for work I was running late.

Then heading for work out of no where this deer runs out and jumpes the hood of my car and while I was trying to control and composure the second one which I did not see was running right in front of my car. BAM wouldn't you know it I hit the poor thing.

I quick jumped out and walked to the back of my car to see this poor deer laying in the road with two broken front legs. OH !@#$ now what do I do. I turned and headed for the front of my car and this is what I found.

So I called my wife and had her call the state police and while I was waiting for them I tried to keep track of the deer which now was scrambling slowly through the woods heading farther out every minute I had to wait. The trooper finally showed up and I said the deer is not dead yet and by then I had lost sight of it so I started tracking with the trooper on my heels.

I finally found it about 50 yards away at the edge of a stream. To make a long story short the trooper put the deer down and gave me a kill report sheet on the deer so I could take it if I wanted, which I did.

I guess what I know I will be doing this weekend, skinning and cutting and packaging.

Jack, I wish it had only cost me a bullet instead of car repairs.

I started to skin a fresh road-kill once and smelled deer crap the second I slipped the knife through the skin on the lower leg. I didn't go any farther.

Will, they can do quite a bit od damage.

Gorges, sometimes you just don't know until you open them up.

Sorry about the car. I am glad the damage wasn't worse than it could have been.
And I am glad you were able to track the deer and end its suffering.

I hunt deer the old fashion way, I shoot them. I hunt www.peartreegameranch.com for deer. Sorry you ran into the deer with your car.

Becky, thanks. That is not a way for any animal to go.

spike, thanks. I would rather shoot them than hit them with my car.
